Fonte del Re is a place name that indicates the place where an ancient spring gushed near Morro d'Alba, the town on the hills of the Marche that has also given its name to the Doc since 1985. Lacrima, so called for the characteristic drop that tears from the bunch when the grapes are fully ripe, is a vine known since ancient times. Saved from extinction, today it is grown in a very small production area around Morro d'Alba (AN), about 15 km from the Adriatic Sea.

Packaging: 3 bottles of 0.75 lt Grape: Tear 100% Production area: Marche The Vineyard: The vineyards, located at 150-200 meters above sea level, are planted on very deep soils clayey, with south-east/south-west exposure. Yields are between 90 and 100 quintals per hectare. Harvest: Carried out by hand in the period that normally goes from mid to late September. Vinification: The grapes, destemmed and slightly pressed, are macerated for a maximum of 10 days, in steel tanks, at a temperature kept around 24° C, with the aim of keep the fruity notes of the must to the maximum. As soon as the alcoholic fermentation is over, the wine also carries out malolactic fermentation, and then moves on to the aging phase in steel for about 4 months. A short stay in the bottle completes the aging of the wine. Serving glass: Medium-sized glass with a spherical tendency, to allow a good oxygenation of the wine and a perfect opening of the aromas. Pairings: Traditionally it goes well with typical local cold cuts such as Fabriano larded or ciavuscolo, first courses based on red sauce and meat sauce, and second dishes based on white meats. It can also be combined with marinated blue fish appetizers or in carpione with the same wine and some types of seafood soup. Also excellent with semi-hard cheeses. Serving temperature: 15°C
