Sahumerio is the 2020 Rum Cihuatàn Limited Edition. It celebrates fire, a symbol of love and passion, understood by the Mayans also as a benign and transforming force. In each Mayan home there was a 'sahumerio' container in which incense and aromatic plants were lit, including tobacco and cocoa to favor Chantico, goddess of fire and love. Chantico took the form of an eagle or a snake, so if one of these animals was found inside or near a house, love was coming!
The Sahumerio rum captures in every sip the hypnotic beauty of a bonfire. For this 14-year-old rum, barrels were selected with characteristics such as to evoke the smoked scents of what burned in the Mayan sahumerios. Dried myrtle, incense, cocoa butter, honey, dried apricots.

Cihuatan rum, the only one to be produced in El Salvador, is ; aged with the Solera system, which helps the evaporation of the distillate and the maturation of each barrel. The barrels used are made of American oak ex -Bourbon, which ensure an ideal balance between the delicate scents of wood and the sweetness of rum.
