Amaro Rupes is produced through the cold methodology of old tradition that involves the infusion of a hydroalcoholic solution in large steel vats, for at least twenty days, with medicinal herbs of high quality and subsequent reduction of alcohol content to 28% Vol. by adding water and sugar. Maceration allows to fully extract the properties of herbs, including laurel, fennel and calabrian licorice, giving the distillate freshness, persistence of taste, character and pleasantness on the palate. This process also allows you to extract bitter active ingredients that stimulate digestion and promote intestinal functions. The careful choice of herbs has been entrusted to a distillery that, for almost a century, has refined the art of processing and mixing herbs and roots.
Rupes is a bitter meditation, amber brown color and unique flavor, unmistakable and balanced; the scent is intense with strong herbaceous notes. Sents of ginger chocolate and a contained bitterness make this bitter rich and tempting, leaving the palate a composed softness.
Enjoy it at room temperature or icy (-20°C), sitting at the table at the end of a tasty dinner eaten in pleasant company, or maybe in an armchair at any time of the day, letting you wander eyes and thoughts through delicate images. The Rupes Bitter Digestive is the daily pleasure to be enjoyed in relaxation after meals or for meditation evenings. The bitterness can be tried after a meal or as an extended drink with sparkling water or ice. The main ingredients are: Calabrian licorice, wild fennel and bay leaves. The Amaro Rupes has its roots in the centuries-old Calabrian traditions dating back to the Middle Ages, years in which bitter was used as a digestive remedy in monasteries. According to historical evidence, the name of the bitter comes from the place where it was distilled at the beginning of the 19th century, at the foot of the Rock of Rocella. Its realization takes place with the old artisan method of cold maceration of the thirty aromatic and medicinal herbs that compose it; among these, wild fennel, Calabrian licorice and bay leaves stand out. A bitter amber brown color with an unmistakable flavor and an intoxicating and relaxing scent. To be enjoyed on an armchair after a long day at work, in a low tumbler.
