The appearance of this liqueur brings back to memory the ancient times when the monks, using medical practices, used this fruit to make infusions. Initially Ginja was considered, in Portugal, the liqueur of the rich consumed by the wealthy classes. Later democratized, it became popular among poets, singers and sailors. Currently, Ginjinha is considered by many as the official drink of Lisbon, it is a balanced liqueur to be enjoyed at any occasion and especially in company!
