Lo Champagne Brut “Cuvèe Saint-Petersbourg” è un omaggio alla caparbietà di Madame Clicquot, che nel 1814, nonostante il blocco continentale che inibiva gli scambi commerciali in Europa, riuscì ad esportarlo alle corti di San Pietroburgo. La sua bollicina riscosse un grande successo tra i nobili russi e ciò contribuì a rendere la Maison famosa in tutto il mondo, nell'arco di pochi anni. Il Brut Saint-Petersbourg di Veuve Clicquot è ottenuta con gli stessi assemblaggi dell’etichetta Yellow Label, in cui signoreggia il Pinot Noir, completato da Chardonnay e Pinot Meunier, ma il metodo di produzione lo differenzia, infatti affina per 3 o 4 anni sui lieviti, contro i 30 mesi del Brut Yellow Label. Risulta quindi più evoluto e più carico: le note di vaniglia, pasticceria e pane sono più marcate, ma pur sempre integrate perfettamente in un sorso di grande finezza ed equilibrio, dove la freschezza equivale divinamente la morbidezza. Insomma uno Champagne storico, di grande tradizione, che sprigiona tutta l’essenza di Madame Clicquot.
