Tommasi's Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Fiorato comes from the vineyard of the same name. Ca' Florian and Fiorato are adjacent to the Rafaèl vineyard and occupy the highest part of the hill; the three constitute the historical nucleus planted by the founder. The composition of the soil is clayey with high concentrations of iron and magnesium which are mainly responsible for the darker color due to the oxidation of the two minerals. The grapes of this Recioto, 65% Corvina, 30% Rondinella and 5% Molinara, are dried on traditional racks for 4 months, then vinified in steel; the refinement is then carried out for 12 months in oak barriques.
RECIOTO DELLA VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO FIORATO TOMMASI: THE TASTING
Tommasi's Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Fiorato has a beautiful deep and impenetrable ruby color. On the nose it offers important aromas of morello cherry, blackberry, raspberry dark chocolate, tobacco, mint, toasted dried fruit and medicinal herbs. In the mouth it is harmonious and silky, with softness balanced by beautiful freshness and smooth tannins. Good on its own, it is happy to drink it in combination with blue goat cheeses, dried fruit and chocolate biscuits, or even with Linzer cake.
The Tommasi Family is one of most renowned Italian winegrowing families.Their mission has been the same since 1902: to produce the most famous wines of the Bel Paese.
