The bamboo fabric is now a widely used material and its good reputation is due to its great absorption capacity and its softness. It is a very breathable fabric and suitable for all seasons (it keeps you warm in the cold seasons and leaves you cool during the warm seasons). Its natural qualities make it the ideal fabric for sensitive skin, with a tendency to allergies and / or dermatitis and for the delicate skin of children. Experts consider bamboo a "breathing" fabric, thanks to the type of weave, which offers a remarkable deodorising value and a greater absorbency than cotton and some fibers. The rapid evaporation of sweat gives a pleasant sensation of well-being and freshness. This fabric protects against ultraviolet rays and has thermal qualities: 2 degrees less if the temperature is high while keeping the body heat in cold conditions. The bamboo garments are luxuriously comfortable and soft. They have a high resistance to wear and an aesthetically perfect fit. Flannel and bamboo velvet are soft materials made from a combination of bamboo with a small amount of cotton. They have all the advantages of bamboo with the comfort of fleece (draining). The French terry and the bamboo sponge are widely used. Compared to cotton, bamboo absorbs about 60% more liquids. The cultivation of bamboo also has a limited and positive environmental impact, because it requires few production factors with practically no use of pesticides. The bamboo plantations grow very quickly and have a positive effect on the territory, countering the erosion of the subsoil and the greenhouse effect. Its production is therefore more sustainable than most other products, such as polyester and conventional cotton, for example. The fiber is obtained from the pulp of the bamboo plant that is transformed into viscose (or rayon) in order to be spun, some countries do not accept the single word 100% Bamboo because it is incomplete since there is NO possibility of weaving bamboo (fiber similar to wood) without specific processing. But a chemical process is not necessarily NOT eco-sustainable. In the case of bamboo processing, the use of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide to dissolve cellulose is not toxic to humans. The processing of bamboo with N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide undergoes the same process as lyocell, used for the manufacture of Tencel ® brand considered sustainable because the formulations used are presumably not toxic to humans. The lyocell processes take place in a closed circuit, so that 99.5% of the chemicals are captured and recycled to be used again. In relation to chemical agents, the production of bamboo textile fibers with this process is more sustainable. Furthermore, certifications such as the Oeko-Tex (Confidence in textiles) are complete labels to ensure that the garment safeguards the health of consumers and does not contain chemical agents harmful to humans on the final fabric. ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANALLERGIC: The bamboo plant contains a particular bacteriostatic agent (Bamboo Kunh) which, in addition to ensuring a natural antibacterial and fungicidal function, prevents the growth of odor-causing bacteria and their proliferation in bamboo clothing, which thus they become more hygienic and more fragrant. Some tests have shown that the mortality rate of bacteria within bamboo fibers is over 70% and a Japanese textile inspection association has found that, even after fifty washes, bamboo fabrics still have these functions. In this way the fabric is also hypoallergenic. FRESH, ULTRATRANSPIRING AND PROTECTIVE: Bamboo absorbs moisture quickly and lets it evaporate 3-4 times faster than cotton thanks to the many micro-cavities of the fabric and its naturalness. The bamboo garments therefore keep the body dry, are fresher than cotton or synthetic fibers (according to tests, up to 2 ° C), do not stick to the skin and guarantee greater thermoregulation. PROTECTION AGAINST UV RAYS: Unlike other fabrics, bamboo fiber provides our body with greater protection from UV rays, allowing ultraviolet rays to penetrate more than 200 / 400nm, which are the most harmful to human beings. SOFT AND WRAPPED: Bamboo fabrics have a natural shine, a softness to the touch like silk, but they are less expensive and more durable. Thanks to the smooth and round structure of the fibers, they do not irritate the skin, not even the most sensitive ones. The garments do not crumple like cotton.
