Vintage Collection Satèn, the femininity and elegance of silk, is a special interpretation of a Franciacorta: the harmonious marriage between sun and white grapes. And a little secret: during the draft, the phase in which sugars and yeasts are added to start the second fermentation in the bottle, a lower amount of sugar is added to Satèn. Finally, a long aging period enhances a soft elegance in every single bottle.
Delicious as an aperitif, it is an excellent conversation wine.
Packaging: 1 bottle of 0.75 ltDenomination: Franciacorta Satèn Millesimato.Grapes: 85% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Blanc.Vineyards of origin: 16 Chardonnay vineyards from the average age of 33, located in the municipalities of Erbusco, Adro, Cazzago San Martino, Corte Franca and Passirano.2 Pinot Blanc vineyards from the age average of 25 years, located in the municipality of Passirano.Average yield per hectare: 7,400 kilograms of grapes, equivalent to 3,200 liters of wine (wine yield: 43%).Vinification: The Franciacorta Vintage Collection is the result of a careful selection of the grapes and a skilful vinification carried out in full compliance with the Ca 'del Bosco Method. The grapes, freshly harvested by hand in small boxes, are classified and cooled. Each bunch is selected by expert eyes and hands, and then benefit from exclusive “spas of the berries”. A particular system for washing and hydromassage of the bunches, through three soaking tanks and a drying tunnel. After pressing in the absence of oxygen, all the musts of the base wines ferment in small oak barrels. To seek maximum aromatic complexity and expressive power, without losing elegance, the barrel elevage lasts only 5 months. A pair of flying tanks allows the decanting of wines by gravity, from small barrels to aging tanks. The 2012 Satèn Vintage Collection is the result of a skilful union of 18 Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc base wines. The addition of sugars in less quantities than the other Franciacorta gives it creaminess and a particular profile, elegant and soft, further strengthened by a long aging in the bottle. The dégorgement takes place in the absence of oxygen, using a unique system in the world, designed and patented by Ca 'del Bosco. This avoids oxidative shocks and further sulphite additions, making our Franciacorta purer, more pleasant and longer lasting.
