Aquascutum, founded in London in 1851, is an English company that produces waterproof: in fact, the meaning of the Latin name of the brand is “shield for water”.
The history of the Regent Street house has its roots in the distant Crimean War and the Siege of Sevastopol, when Aquascutum raincoats were used by the British army, to protect soldiers from the weather.

The Aquascutums were long up to the ankles, adorned with shoulder pads, with rigorous military lines, were also very successful among the gentleman of the time and continued to find a place in the men's wardrobe throughout the '900.

The women's collection was produced since 1914, close to the First World War, the same year in which the English company proposed the historic “trench-coat”, whose legendary model, also claimed at Burberry's, it has remained almost unchanged to date. World War II sees a further expansion of the company: Aquascutum is the official manufacturer of raincoats for men of the Royal Air Force, and patents the cotton raincoats mixed with nylon, the “Wyncol D.711”.
In the 1950s, he introduced an Iridescent Cotton Gabardine and the inner lining of satin or flannel into the production of the garments. Then, starting from the 1960s, it expanded its production to new models, touching the total look.
In '76 he patented a Scottish fantasy for the linings: the club-check.
Estimated between Monday 6 May and Friday 10 May.
