An emblematic wine of Castello Nipozzano, a historic Frescobaldi estate a few kilometers northeast of Florence, Nipozzano Riserva is the symbol of the Tuscan wine tradition and of the indissoluble link with the terroir.
A wine with a wonderful balance of components, brilliant ruby red in color. The nose is characterized by hints of red and black berry fruits, such as black cherry, raspberry, blueberry, red and black currant; delicate citrus notes follow that give rise to a beautiful freshness. Even the floral notes characterize the profile of this wine with hints reminiscent of sweet violet and dog rose. The bouquet concludes with delicate spicy notes of black pepper and balsamic notes, which reinforce the feeling of elegant freshness. On the palate, the acid-alcohol component is perfectly balanced. The tannic texture is well present, in a very elegant way.

Grapes: Sangiovese and complementary varieties
Winemaking: The grapes, as soon as they were harvested, were immediately transferred to the cellar. Here, once de-stemmed, the spontaneous fermentation process took place in heat-regulated stainless steel tanks. At the end of this, the wine remained in the vats to conclude the maceration. After racking, malolactic fermentation took place, always carried out in steel tanks. At the end of the year, the wine was racked into barriques, where it matured for the following months. The further period in the bottle allowed Nipozzano 2018 to express itself to the fullest, making it a wine with an exceptional expressive balance.

Creativity and the pursuit of excellence have been handed down over the centuries in all generations of the Frescobaldi family. In 1300, during the exile of Dante Alighieri, his poet friend Dino Frescobaldi brought him back the first seven songs of the Divine Comedy, thus allowing him to complete the work. In 1700, the baroque compositions of the famous musician Girolamo Frescobaldi spread throughout Europe. With great openness to the future, the family's ancestors introduced then unknown vines to Tuscany, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The 20th century is characterized by the action of Vittorio, Ferdinand and Leonardo Frescobaldi who have made an important contribution to raising Tuscany to a place of excellence for viticulture . Today he gathered the baton Lamberto Frescobaldi who, thanks to his long technical experience, aims to further strengthen the uniqueness of the wines of each estate in the family.
